Obituary

Mary Lincoln, 86, of Burlington, died Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at Addington Place.

Born June 16, 1936, she was the daughter of Arthur and Mary Ann (Johnson) Bloomer.

Mary was a member of Divine Mercy Parish. She was a graduate of Burlington Catholic Schools. On June 23, 1956 she married Harold Lincoln in Burlington. He died April 11, 2003.

Mary worked at Champion Spark Plug and loved her job. She worked there 32 years.

She was a member of Moose Lodge, Eagles, Legion of Mary and past member of V.F.W. Auxiliary. Mary enjoyed camping, bird watching, biking, her pets and yard work. She loved taking care of her grandkids and great grandkids. She was a fan of the Burlington Bee’s.

Survivors include her children Tammy Lincoln of Burlington, Ron Lincoln of Burlington, Tim (Vanessa) Lincoln of Newton, and Lori Lincoln of Burlington; ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harold, two sons Randy and Richard and two brothers Paul and Bob Bloomer.

The mass of Christian burial for Mary will be 11:00 AM Monday, June 12th at Divine Mercy Parish, Ss. Mary and Patrick Catholic Church with the Very Rev. Father Marty Goetz as celebrant. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Following the interment there will be a reception/luncheon at Ss Mary and Patrick parish center.

A memorial has been established for The Des Moines County Humane Society.

The family would like to thank the staff at Addington Place and Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice for taking care of Mary with great compassion and caring.
