🙏✨ ND Senior Pilgrimage 2026! ✨🙏 ND Seniors and chaperones have enjoyed many stops on this year’s pilgrimage beginning with the Basilica and National Shrine of Mary Help of Christians at Holy Hill, Wisconsin. Here, Father Jake celebrated a private Mass for our seniors in the beautiful St. Therese Chapel. Students then had the opportunity to climb the steeple stairs to experience an incredible view of the Wisconsin countryside! In the basilica, students viewed a replica of the Shroud of Turin. Next stop…Marquette University in Milwaukee to visit the Joan of Arc Chapel!
Day 2 started with The National Shrine of Our Lady of Champion, just outside of Green Bay. This is the site of the only approved Marian apparition in the United States! Not many photos were taken at this site, as time there was spent in quiet prayer at Mass, in the oratory (below the church on the site where Mary appeared) and just taking in Mary’s peaceful presence on the beautiful grounds.
The finale of the pilgrimage was a tour of the legendary Lambeau Field, home of the Green Bay Packers, followed by a stop at Titletown for some fun and games! Special thanks to Father Jake for joining on this amazing pilgrimage. It was filled with growth in faith, and some very special “together time” for our seniors in their last year as a class. As always, we thank God for the many blessings bestowed on us here at Notre Dame!

Our Notre Dame students celebrated Fulton Sheen's Beatification Day in many ways! We began the day by being greeted at the door by Venerable Fulton Sheen, then praying The Our Father with him (his voice!) Each period of the day began with a different fact about his life, from his birth near Peoria, IL to his Emmy Award winning television series "A Life Worth Living," which reached an estimated 30 million viewers each week. Students also prayed The World Mission Rosary, which he introduced in 1951. Our 7th grade was able to watch the acclamation during the Beatification Mass, as he was proclaimed "Blessed." They then excitedly flipped his sign from Venerable to Blessed! Blessed Fulton J. Sheen, pray for us!

Both first grade classes went on a field trip today to Starr's Cave. Miss Shania took us on a hike. We looked for different colors while we where hiking. We got rained on, but we were prepared! We also got to explore the animals and exhibits in the Nature Center. 2nd group of photos

Last week third graders at Notre Dame were able to travel to Starr’s cave to complete their fossils unit in science. Students were able to take a hike and see some rocks that had fossils in them. They made nature journals, explored the nature center and even had time to see some live animals.
Last week, Wednesday and Thursday, Grades 4 and 5 travelled to Sts. Mary and Patrick, Our Lady of Grace Grotto. There, they sketched "en plein air," or outside/on location.Then they visited the Murray Art Gallery at SCC to see artwork made in last month's Art 319 En Plein Air art competition.
Notre Dame Elementary's September Character Trait of the month was Respect. Our winners are: Ivan Onduro in Kindergarten and Mr. Harrison's 5th grade class! Congratulations to our winners and all of our nominees!

ND Events this week!
The Nikes head to Southeastern Community College tonight for the SEISC Tournament Finals! We will take on Wapello in the quarterfinals at 6:00 PM. With a win, the Nikes will move on to face West Burlington or Pekin in the semifinals immediately following.
